Resolve background alert blocks or send inquiries directly to our operations relay.
If your device is blocking incoming alerts or failing to show emergency overlays, your operating system is likely restricting our background services. Follow these 3 steps to configure your settings for fail-safe operations.
Upon first launch, SafePing requests permission to override physical silent switches. Verify this by opening your device settings:
iOS: Settings > SafePing > Notifications > Enable Critical Alerts.
Android: Settings > Apps > SafePing > Notifications > Ensure all channels (specifically "Ping Alerts") are checked and set to "Bypass Do Not Disturb".
Aggressive battery managers often kill background services, blocking emergency data relays.
Android: Go to Settings > Apps > SafePing > Battery > Set battery usage to Unrestricted (disable Battery Optimization).
iOS: Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh > Toggle on for SafePing.
To guarantee coordinates are dispatched during an emergency check-in, set background permissions to "Always":
iOS & Android: Settings > SafePing > Permissions > Location > Choose Allow All the Time (Always Allow).
